WHAT IS GARMENT DYE?

Garment Dye is a technique and method where the garment is sent through an age-old dye process after it has been cut & sewn. The dye is absorbed into the piece of clothing during the wash process, which results in an even color coverage ensuring every piece is unique with variations in shade, color, and weathering through every batch.

Our line of Garment Dye product is designed with a more relaxed fit, having a lower drop shoulder and thicker threads for a vintage look. This particular dye process is a popular choice for knit fabrics, as it results in a garments with richer hues and softer hand feel.

It's unique fit and feel will take you away.

RESULTS

As the finished garment is washed in dye, it creates some variation in the overall color when the texture changes, such as on the seams or collars. This unique process is what gives garment-dyed pieces subtle variations in color; however, boasting more vibrant colors and a softer hand & pre shrunk fit.

Each piece will have its own unique charisteristics, giving a heritage look and feel that will wear well over time.

PROCESS

Unlike the typical method dying of dying fabric before it is cut & sewn, garment dye is fully sewn together and then immersed in the dye solution. The dye bonds with the fabric at a molecular level, resulting in even color coverage and rich hues.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

Softness and Texture: The dyeing process after construction can soften both the color and texture of the garment, giving it a lived-in, vintage feel.

Pre-Shrunk: Garment dyeing often includes a pre-shrinking process, which helps prevent further shrinkage after washing.

Unique Look: Each garment dyed piece can have subtle variations in color, making each garment unique.
